A graduate of Clemson University, Billy has built a distinguished career over the years, starting in advertising sales with prominent publications and later pioneering the digital media landscape.
In 2007, Billy founded Dunlap Media, a company that launched GoLaurens.com, one of the first daily, digital-only news sources in the United States. This innovative approach to local journalism set the stage for a new era of digital news. In 2024, Dunlap Media expanded its reach by adding GoFountainInn.com to its portfolio, further establishing its reputation as a leader in digital media.
Billy’s extensive background in media includes key roles such as Director of Digital Media at several newspapers, including the Greenwood Index-Journal and Anderson Independent Mail, where he was pivotal in shaping the digital strategy of each publication. He also worked in advertising sales for the Greenville News and Spartanburg Herald-Journal, gaining valuable insights into the intersection of media, marketing, and technology.
In addition to his media work, Billy is the co-founder of SportsTech Solutions, an Atlanta-based company that specialized in customer relationship management software for basketball officiating staffs of NCAA athletic conferences. The company’s clients included major conferences like the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC), Colonial Athletic Association (CAA), Big South Conference, and many more, helping them enhance their engagement with their officials.
Beyond his professional ventures, Billy has been an NCAA men’s basketball official since 1995, showcasing his lifelong commitment to sports and officiating.

In these roles, he developed a keen understanding of both traditional and digital marketing, helping businesses grow through effective, results-driven campaigns.
A seasoned sales professional and team leader, Bailey specializes in digital marketing strategy and marketing consulting.
